For the first time ever, a Beta ALIA CX300 will fly in the Netherlands. EFC is hosting two special events on 29 May 2026 — at Den Helder Airport and Lelystad Airport.
Beta Technologies is a US-based electric aviation company that has developed the ALIA CX300 — a fixed-wing electric aircraft with exceptional range, efficiency, and versatility.
Beta is at the forefront of making commercial electric aviation a reality. The ALIA CX300 can carry 5 passengers up to 600 km on a single charge.
These demonstration flights in the Netherlands — facilitated by eSmart Avia and hosted by EFC — mark a milestone moment for European electric aviation. For the first time, the Beta ALIA will operate from Dutch airports, demonstrating the readiness of both the aircraft and the infrastructure.
Two iconic Dutch airports take centre stage as gateways for the electric aviation revolution in Europe.
North Holland, The Netherlands
Strategically positioned at the heart of North Sea operations, Den Helder Airport is pioneering the transition to electric regional aviation. Den Helder Airport is positioning itself as Europe's leading electric vertiport — connecting offshore energy, logistics, and regional travel through zero-emission flight.
Flevoland, The Netherlands
At the centre of the Netherlands, Lelystad Airport is uniquely positioned to become the first fully electric commercial airport in Europe. With strong government backing from Province Flevoland and a growing network of EFC members, Lelystad Airport is building the infrastructure, partnerships, and ecosystem to power the next generation of regional electric flights across the continent.
Register for one or both events. Each event includes live viewing of the Beta ALIA, panel discussions, and networking with Europe's electric aviation community. Please note that only 30 people per event will be able to see the aircraft up close — as agreed with Beta Technologies.
From training aircraft flying today to 90-seat airliners on the horizon — electric aviation is scaling fast.
Aircraft shown are indicative and represent a range of electric aircraft that will operate in each segment during that period.
